Ideas with direction. Systems with purpose. People at the heart. A useful idea often begins as a question. What could work better? What could we create? And where do we start? Navigator Systems brings coaching, business experience and practical technology together to help people find a clear way forward.

From 1985 to today, Oshim Somers’ experience spans finance and accounting, information technology, systems analysis, programme management and delivery, cybersecurity and data governance. He has coached and developed teams, led multiple programme teams and many innovation teams across Australia, and worked on programmes overseas.

That breadth shapes a simple approach: understand the people and the purpose before choosing the technology. Ask better questions. Challenge assumptions. Make room for different perspectives. Then take a practical next step. The Navigator credo captures that pace: one heartbeat, one breath, one step.

Through facilitated online coaching, Oshim works with individuals and teams to clarify what matters, explore what is possible and decide what is worth pursuing. Coaching brings experience, constructive challenge and reflection into the work. People retain judgement and ownership of the decisions.

The working Navigator Compass Method gives that conversation a structure. Set your compass. Chart options. Test the possibilities. Choose a course. Brief the next step. The result is a clearer concept, options and rationale, a prototype brief, or a practical delivery path that others can understand and discuss.

AI-assisted tools help explore variations, scenarios and early concepts rapidly within the engagement. The aim is useful choices, not more complexity. Sometimes the right answer is a simpler process or better use of an existing tool. Sometimes it is a focused prototype that makes an idea easier to test.

Navigator Systems Accelerator offers a practical starting point: coaching, a concept logo and single-page visual direction, with three consolidated revision rounds. From there, a development preview can make the concept more tangible. A working website or application is a separately agreed next step.

Delivery can include business websites, focused applications and connections to booking, shopping or existing systems. Scope, cost, dependencies and review checks are agreed before building. Coaching stays connected to the decisions as the solution develops, and hosting, maintenance and support can be planned alongside it.

Privacy and data security belong in those decisions from the beginning. Australian cloud environments can be scoped for development, testing and live services. Data flows, permissions, backups and external providers need to be understood. Applicable OWASP and Essential Eight guidance informs scoped checks; this is not a claim of certification or guaranteed security.

Whether you are shaping a first venture, improving a small business or aligning an enterprise team, start with a useful conversation. Bring the idea. Explore the options. Choose a course with purpose. Navigator Systems. Ideas with direction. Systems with purpose. People at the heart.

People come first

There is a person
behind every possibility.

A business is made of people. So is a system. Their experience, relationships, knowledge and energy shape what is possible.

The Navigator begins by listening: to the person carrying the idea, the team doing the work and the people who will live with the change. We take time to understand what matters, what is difficult and what useful progress would mean.

Oshim’s approach brings a human touch to complex work: curiosity, honest conversation, trust and transparency. Coaching helps you make your own choices; consultation brings practical perspective; tools help turn those choices into action.

The intention is to make better use of your time, resources and effort, while respecting the people, relationships and sensitive circumstances involved.

A conversation is the starting point

Your idea. A clear next step.

Bring your idea, challenge or business need. Work with Oshim to clarify what matters, explore options and agree a practical way forward.

Express your interest

A credo carried into practice
“The Difficult we do Immediately,
the Impossible takes a Little Longer”.Adopted by Oshim while studying in 1979, after seeing the words outside a lecturer’s office. Preserved from his July 2026 profile.

A spirit of curiosity and persistence: look carefully, find a possible route and take a useful next step. Here, rapid development means short learning cycles and clear decisions. Timing still depends on scope, complexity, available resources and the reviews the work needs.

Meet the creator · Oshim Somers

Connecting people,
systems and possibilities.

Oshim’s background spans business transformation, project and programme management, technology delivery and the human dynamics of change. His profile describes complex programmes and projects in sensitive and challenging environments, supported by relationships built on trust and transparency.

He brings a commercial and financial perspective alongside experience with applications, information, integration and systems. His interest is in how those parts work together—and how people can be supported to make progress.

Photography, the ocean and personal inquiry add another dimension: attention, perspective and the willingness to find a different route. The Navigator brings these threads into a practical approach to helping people explore, create and move forward.

Navigator Coaching is another dimension of Oshim’s work: transformation coaching to help people navigate change, reconnect with what matters and take practical steps towards a meaningful direction. Explore the Navigator Coaching website ↗

From a small startup to enterprise

The scale changes.
People and purpose stay central.

Begin with one idea, improve an established business or coordinate a complex programme. Shape the scope, governance and assurance to the setting.

Startups & small businesses

Clarify the customer problem, explore a concept and test a useful first version with a realistic limit on time and resources.

Medium & large organisations

Improve processes, connect information and systems, develop team capability and plan adoption around the people doing the work.

Enterprise programmes

Make dependencies, decision rights, information ownership, integration and release responsibilities visible across a wider delivery effort.

Health, defence, education and justice

Oshim's supplied career material describes work across these sectors, including health systems, education programme planning, emergency response communications and enterprise applications. It informs his approach to complex work in sensitive contexts.

His formal background, recorded in his résumé, includes a Bachelor of Accountancy, a Graduate Diploma in Systems Analysis and a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security, alongside a CPA background. Accounting, finance, analysis, programme delivery and cybersecurity provide connected perspectives on business change.

Information, ownership and assurance

Follow the information.
Make responsibility clear.

Data stewardship

Establish who owns information, its purpose and source, who can access it, and how it is retained, corrected, exported or removed.

Sovereignty & cybersecurity

Consider storage, backups, logs, providers, support access and exports. Agree requirements for the actual organisation, jurisdiction and information involved.

Testing & release

Check functions, user experience, accuracy, permissions and recovery. Record actual evidence, gaps and the decision to release. Use independent assurance when the context requires it.

These are design and review considerations, not claims of certified security, guaranteed sovereignty or completed testing for a future engagement.

A continuing inquiry into AI

From decision support in 1998
to practical AI tools today.

AI belongs within a wider understanding of people, information, decisions and business purpose.

1998 · AN EARLY FOUNDATION

Oshim’s profile records his paper The Virtual Accountant — Surviving in the Next Millennium in an IFAC publication, exploring information management, decision support and artificial intelligence, including intelligent agents.

TODAY · A PRACTICAL APPLICATION

His recent profile describes using AI tools for research synthesis, technology scanning, venture ideation and digital research systems. His services apply that interest to human-led concept development, prototypes and practical business improvement.

The 1998 reference is drawn from Oshim’s supplied profile; the original publication has not been independently examined for this concept.

Make sense of information

Organise references, identify questions, compare options and distinguish evidence from assumptions.

Make possibilities visible

Develop draft concepts, brand directions, documents and prototypes that people can discuss and improve.

Keep judgement in the loop

Review factual accuracy, usefulness, ownership and appropriate use before acting on AI-assisted work.

Another dimension · Transformation coaching

A direction that
feels like yours.

Alongside business ideation and systems delivery, Oshim offers transformation coaching: space to reflect, navigate change and shape a meaningful next chapter.

You may be facing a transition, questioning what comes next or wanting to reconnect with what matters. Coaching creates room to listen, explore your values and strengths, and consider a direction that feels right for you.

Move from insight to small, practical steps at a pace that fits your circumstances. You retain judgement and ownership of your choices.

For teams and businesses, coaching also supports shared understanding, capability and the human experience of change. People and purpose remain at the heart of the work.

The Navigator’s Rapid Coaching Methodology

Listen. Clarify. Create.
Review. Put it to work.

A framework and tools for business startups, existing businesses, process improvement and new systems development. Consultation and coaching run through the whole journey.

Understand the real need

Explore your purpose, the people involved, the current process, practical constraints and what success would look like. Challenge assumptions before committing resources.

Try something small and useful

Compare approaches, choose a bounded experiment and create a tangible prototype. Use feedback to decide what to keep, change or stop.

Build with a clear handover

Develop the agreed scope, check how it works and plan release, guidance and support. Keep evidence of decisions and progress visible.

Rapid is a working discipline: smaller scopes, reusable foundations, early feedback and fewer unnecessary handoffs. This concept does not promise a fixed delivery time or a guaranteed saving.

Where it can help

Start something.
Improve something.
Find a better flow.

A new business

Shape the opportunity, understand the customer, explore an identity and prototype an initial presence or service before a larger commitment.

An existing business

Look at a difficult process, repeated administration, disconnected information or a customer journey that needs attention. Consider process changes as well as technology.

A new system or programme

Translate complex needs into a clear brief, map dependencies, make a rapid prototype and coordinate a manageable path through development, review and deployment.

Illustrative applications, not promises of an already connected service.

Human-led services

From an early idea
to practical delivery.

Explore the possibilities.

Work with Oshim to clarify the people, purpose and context. Compare options, test assumptions and shape a brief for a useful first experiment.
